My sister-in-law is currently in Pflugerville Health Care Center. She has some dementia, and yet she's only 66 years old. She's in a secured wing of the facility, and she shares a room with someone and it just feels like a hospital, but a little sadder. There's not a lot for her to do and she sees it as a temporary thing, but the fact of the matter is she's always gonna need care, in her case, memory care. I've only been able to visit her in her room as a designated caregiver.
